I frequently check twitter to read articles of WordPress. I mostly followed people who involved with WordPress. So from twitter, I came to know about WordCamp Nashik. So I and my friends started planning.
We decided to go Nashik by bike. All want to enjoy bike riding. Many people said no because a road is not good. But we already decided. 🙂
We planned to leave for Nashik at 3 am at 15 Oct because all want to do a night out. 🙂 We took three breaks in between. We entered in Nashik by 8 am, but we reached the hotel by 10 am. We faced some trouble to find the location because mobile internet service stopped.
We leave for Nashik one day before because we want to visit many places like Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple, Sula Wines, and other places. Our planned failed because we slept and woke up late. So after that, we decided to visit Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple. We enjoyed bike ride when we went to the temple.
After that, we decide to go to McDonald’s because one of my friends wanted to eat a burger. After that, we went to the hotel, enjoyed TV, watch a movie and then we slept because we need to reach WordCamp venue before 9 am. Registration process timing was 8am to 9:30 am.
After registration, we sit at our company desks. We took some pictures. I and my friends met Vishal Kothari (Founder of Tyche Softwares). I knew him when we are doing WordPress translation in the Gujarati language. So to met him was the plan of our trip. Really nice to met him. We got some swag, I especially loved NAPUU sticker, which I stuck on my laptop.
Some of the sessions I especially enjoyed:
- WordPress For Startups – Hari Shanker
- Winning with WooCommerce – Nirav Mehta
- The BuzzWord ‘UX’, Why it is so Important? – Jayman Pandya
- OSCAR: Methodology to manage WordPress Projects – Dinesh Jain
- How to build a Business on WordPress – Panel Discussion
- Automated Testing in WordPress Eco System – Anand Thakkar
During the lunch break, we met Nirav Mehta and discussed on WordPress Translation, REST API.
We couldn’t attend last two sessions because we needed to leave early so that we reach Pune before 10 pm. But guess what we didn’t reach by 10 pm. Pune-Nashik road is not good so we decided to reach Pune through Kalyan. We faced difficulties to find national highway from Kalyan on a map. The Map took us to Express Highway every time. So finally we reached Pune by 2 am.
Overall experience was good. Below are some things which made this trip especially memorable for me.
- WordCamp Venue
- Food
- Organizers
- Swag
- Desks of all sponsors
- Chocolate at Happiness Bar Desk 🙂
- Wi-fi facility
